NTR/1 – Ethernet-RS232 converter – Low voltage

0,00

NTR/1 is an industrial electrical converter, Ethernet 10/100 Mbps to RS232 serial standard, powered by a low voltage supply, with pluggable terminals.

This Ethernet-RS232 serial converter is Full Duplex, and data rate is configurable up to 250 kbps, so it can be easily installed in any new or existing network.

It accepts a wide range of AC and DC voltages, and it does not need any driver nor DIP switch. For correct operation, the Ethernet section and the serial should be configured via our Windows software.

Description

NTR/1 is an industrial electrical converter, LAN Ethernet 10/100 Mbps to RS232 serial standard, powered by a low voltage supply. It can be used to allow a RS232 device to communicate with an Ethernet network, and isolate the two branches up to 1500 V. Thanks to its compact 2-module DIN rail housing, it can be easily mounted in an electrical panel. It accepts a wide range of AC and DC voltages, and it does not need any driver nor DIP switch. The Ethernet connector is a standard RJ45, while all terminals are puggable, for ease of installation. For correct operation, the Ethernet section and the serial should be configured via our Windows software. This Ethernet-RS232 serial converter is Full Duplex, and data rate is configurable up to 250 kbps, so it can be easily installed in any new or existing network.

Use cases

Ethernet converters are typically used to allow the communication of a RS232 device with an existing Ethernet network. They can be used also to extend the communication range without deploying additional cables, or to isolate devices against voltage surges up to 1500 V. Ethernet LAN networks are ubiquitous in every environment, so it is common to use a serial converter to communicate with a device without Ethernet interface. In a heavily disturbed network, such as industrial environment, it is good practice to integrate two or more optical-electrical converter to guarantee signal integrity.

Versatility

Ethernet-serial converters are available also with different combinations of serial standard, or with optical fiber output. NTM/1 and NTF/1 converters communicate with RS485 and RS422 serial standards, respectively. NTS/1 and NTQ/1 are suitable for synthetic optical fiber, with screw or VersaLink connectors, while NTV/1 comes with Bayonet ST connector for glass optical fiber. Every combination of serial standard, optical fiber, and power supply, is however available, while special requests (such as higher data rates) can be made via the contact form.
